Susan McGalla’s Great Achievements

Susan McGalla is a renowned American businesswoman as well as an executive consultant currently the Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development of the Pittsburgh Steelers, LLC. She has become a real inspiration to women and girls for she expresses her views on how women can move ahead as business women and make their lives better. Susan became famously known in U.S for her position as the president of American Eagle Outfitters Inc (American clothing and all accessories retailer in Pittsburgh) which was a predominantly male company.

Susan was born in the year 1964 and grew up alongside her two brothers in East Liverpool where her father was a local football coach. She went to the Mount Union College and pursued a course in Business and Marketing and attained a bachelor’s degree. Susan began her career life in the year 1986 where she worked in some marketing and managerial positions in the Joseph Horne Company, a former retail Department Store. Here, Susan worked for only eight years and left the company in 1994 and later that year enrolled in the American Eagle Outfitters as a divisional merchandise buyer for women’s clothes. After working in several roles in the management of the company, Susan became the President and Chief Merchandise Officer which was one of her greatest achievement. She termed the experience of being in the company as a lifetime experience in an interview as she said that the corporation at that time was a male dominated with no female on the board.

She also stated that her success in rising to the position of being a member of the council was the cause for a culture change where both men and women worked together to make the company an aspiration corporate in culture. Still, as the president of the enterprise, McGalla managed the launch of the company’s aerie and 77kids brands. Having spent almost fifteen years in the company, Susan left the company in the year 2009 and became a private consultant for financial investments and retail industries. She was appointed in 2009 as a Board Director of HFF Inc. Susan also succeeded Ed Thomas and became the chief executive officer of West Seal in 2011 which she left in the year 2012. Susan is also the founder of the P3 Executive Consulting, LLC, an advisory services company to financial and the Wall Street community on marketing, branding among others. In 2015, she became Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development in Pittsburgh Steelers to the present day.
