Bullish On Argentina
Most of Latin America may be suffering from some sort of economic depression, but not Argentina. In fact, Dondero was one of the first ones to recognize this, and he steered his company to invest in defaulted Argentine provincial debt. Ultimately, the move proved to be a win for Highland Capital. He began to take a serious look at Argentinean markets back in 2012.
In fact, Mr. James Dondero has become sure enough that he has added more people to the team, such as Mauro Staltari, as a specialized investment analyst for the Argentinian side of things. Highland Capital is confident that the new center-right government that was recently elected into office will continue to make Argentina an attractive proposition for investors. Apart from dealing in provincial debt, Highland Capital is also expanding equity holdings in Argentina.
