Smart Homes Are the Future of Real Estate But Still Have Some Challenges, Says Real Estate Expert Todd Lubar

Are smart homes good or bad? Noted entrepreneur Todd Lubar says that there are good and bad parts to smart homes, but with a little improvement, we can fix any issues that there may be.

The good part is that we can make everything more accessible. In the past, there were specific modifications that were made for people who had disabilities. For example, for some homes, they would make a ramp so that someone could get in easily. However, these days, smart homes let us make modifications that are a lot more complex and advanced than a simple ramp. In fact, these modifications are not limited to people with disabilities. Anyone can use smart homes in order to get better lighting and have easier access to things like their thermostat.

Everything is more convenient when you have a smart home. You can control the lighting from your smartphone. You can lock the doors or close the garage doors from your phone as well, even if you already left for work and forgot to close the door. You can monitor the camera systems at your home when you are at work and open the door for someone who is coming to take care of your pet dog. The list goes on and on. You can imagine how it can change the lives of people with disabilities. They no longer have to strain themselves to go from one place to another to do simple things like turn on the lights, turn on the television, see who is at the door, unlock the door, and so on.

At the same time, there are certain challenges that smart homes have. According to inspirery.com, a good example would be how someone with a speech disability would be able to use voice commands. If someone stutters, then virtual assistants may have a problem with understanding them. To overcome that challenge, we will have to create technology that can understand people who stutter.

Todd Lubar is the Senior Vice President at Legendary Investments and the President of TDL Global Ventures.  Todd Lubar has been ranked as one of the top 25 mortgage originators in the US.

When out of his offices, Todd prefers to spend most of his time with his family. Todd also enjoys staying fit and working out at a nearby gym. Beyond that, he really enjoys traveling especially to his favorite region of the country which is Southern California.

Mighty Fortress Church and Other Beautiful, Minnesotan Churches

Minnesota is a stunning state with beautiful countryside and a plethora of historically significant architecture. Chief among these wonderful works of art are the state’s many churches which we will here be taking a keen look into. One of the most eye catching churches in the state is the Gothically inspired, Hennepin Ave. United Methodist Church. This extremely tall building, built in 1916, is highly iconic, mainly due to it’s imposing Gothic spires and delicately crafted stonework which is based, in part, on the old world churches of England. Follow Mighty Fortress Church on Linkedin.

Another truly striking Minnesotan church is the colorful Church of St. Mary’s in the tiny, idyllic town of New Trier. The first thing one will notice about it is it’s cheery red and white designs much in the classical French style. Next there is St. Andrew’s Church in St. Paul which, though no longer active as a place of worship (it has been turned into a art school) the beauty of the stony shrine’s Spanish Revivalist architecture is truly breathtaking. One of the most peculiar looking churches in Minnesota, however, is the tiny little Assumption Chapel of Cold Spring. The quaint little stone chapel is sometimes referred to as the Grasshopper Chapel due to the fact that the tiny, red roofed abode was built in response to a invasive swarm of hungry locusts! According to local legend, the locusts died off shortly after the chapel was erected and it was renovated into the structure that there stands today in memory of the peculiar event.

Lastly, there has been a more recent addition to the line up of distinctive and important churches in the state, such as the theatrically named, Mighty Fortress Church of Zane Avenue. The Mighty Fortress is a Christian ministry that focuses on joyful and energetic worship of Christ. The building itself, though very chic and modern, is extremely aesthetically pleasing and, most notably, very, very spacious. It boasts a peculiar circular design which makes the building instantly recognizable to all who might pass on by and features a relatively plain, almost austere outer facade which makes the Church well live up to its name. David Yates Defends Johnny Depp

David Yates, director of the last four Harry Potter movies and its spin-off series Fantastic Beasts, has come out in defense of Johnny Depp, the controversial lead actor of the new films.

Depp played the main character, Newt Scamander, in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which was released in 2016. The sequel, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, is set to come out November 16, 2018.

Depp attracted controversy, however, during his divorce proceedings with Amber Head, who accused him (with some evidence) of having physically abused her during their marriage. This has led to some fans demanding that he be recast for the new film.

Yates explained his reasons for keeping Depp during a discussion with EW:

“Honestly, there’s an issue at the moment where there’s a lot of people being accused of things, they’re being accused by multiple victims, and it’s compelling and frightening,” he said, no doubt referring to the many abuse accusations that have come out since the Harvey Weinstein scandal began some weeks ago.

However, Yates goes on to argue that so far, Depp has only been accused by one person, and though he stops short of accusing Head of lying, he says that there is a major contrast between Depp as she has described him and the very kind person whom Yates has always found him to be.

He continued by noting that several of Depp’s other exes have come out and said that he never acted abusively toward them, in contrast to many other celebrities involved in recent abuse scandals who have accumulated multiple accusers.

Obviously commenting on a “he said, she said” case like this is very risky, and understandably feelings about these issues can be very strong. It remains to be seen how fans will react to Yates’ reasoning, and how that ultimately affects the film.

OneLogin and a future work with the cloud

OneLogin was created in the Spring of 2010 by Thomas and Christian Pedersen. Their goal was to make a great on-board desk application, Zendesk. They saw the potential of the cloud and not having data on one single hard drive. However, even the cloud has challenges and flaws that OneLogin must acknowledge. But with cloud, they saw the potential of how other businesses could use the cloud to share information with each other. They have since partnered with SaaS vendors that focus on providing security to protect sensitive information that people cherish.

OneLogin knows that hardware can still create risks that need other problems that need solutions. A lot of businesses use shadow IT to analyze unauthorized hardware and decide what to with it. With time, Shadow focus less attention on hardware and put a stronger emphasis on software. They understand that most companies have problems with bad software that hurts their progress. They still have weak points due to the fact that a cloud infrastructure is unsecured. They are aware of the flaws of this system, however they need controls that are not apart of the standard control system. They can use the company credit card to improve their system.

Now users in a company are identified as themselves. Its not a system where you can just rely on a computer to get all the information. OneLogin has created intelligent ways of detecting who is using an account and blocking out people who shouldn’t be using the accounts. Most companies can’t lose their visibility because it will hurt their business. Employees can’t be expected to master the cloud system for optimization on top of their other work. You need to put your identity in the center of your companies cloud. That allows you to control your identity and not the company.

Is a Snyder Cut of “Justice League” Possible?

Is it even possible for Warner Bros. to release a “Snyder cut” of Justice League? While many sources have said no, one Reddit rumor says that there is one already mostly made.

The statement is hard to verify—Reddit users have started many false rumors—but according to an account called DC_Cinematic, a cut of director Zack Snyder’s original vision exists in an “unfinished but notable state.” The account called it “a rough version that had a lot of finished FX and music.”

If this is true, it would be atypical. Due to the untimely death of his daughter, Zack Snyder exited the filming of Justice League before the films many reshoots began, and most reports say that there was not a coherent cut at this point.

It is evident that Joss Whedon, the uncredited replacement director, made many changes—this much is evident by the number of trailer scenes that were missing from the movie, and from Henry Cavill’s lip. (During the reshoots he had a mustache which was digitally removed, as he was contractually required to keep it for Mission: Impossible 6.)

Snyder’s previous DC Extended Universe films, Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice were divisive at best, and Warner Bros. clearly was hoping that Whedon, a director with more mainstream appeal, could fix that problem. Instead the film wound up a strange hodgepodge of the two directors’ very different styles, and many blame Whedon for corrupting Snyder’s vision.

Snyder himself always intended to do reshoots, but it is not clear if he wanted to do as many as Whedon wound up doing. It is also hard to say how much was Whedon’s own decision versus executive demands. In any event, it is unknown if Snyder would even want to do a director’s cut; he seems to have accepted that the DCEU is now out of his hands.

Greg Secker Does it all

One would have expect a man of Greg Seckers’ time to have a impressive resume and accomplishments under his belt for sure, but what this man does is a little extraordinary. Ultimately, he is the founder of the Knowledge Group and a foundation of his name sake. But his experiences reaching this position and level of expertise are what really make him extra special.

His life and professional service is as if some financial guru / king of the mountain has to come home after somebody years away amassing a highly useful and particular skill set the same time. And now like a good man should, he is a leader to a family and not only takes care of home he works from it as well. Truly this is a man living the American dream but he’s not from or in America anymore.

This is only a testament to his wherewithal and globalized mindset. Most people wouldn’t mind working from home as well if they directed offices that spanned from London to Johannesburg. This is actually quite achievable, if not all together easy do, when you have the right tools such as Smart Charts and a Virtual Trading Desk.

Like many men who face the challenge of changing the world today Greg knows that it can’t be done from the inside out. That is to say there are certain institutions and establishments in place which only trapped and snare people even if they try to do the right thing within them. The action on the New York Stock Exchange is an adequate, if oversimplified, example of this. Does anyone recall the name “Crooked E”? Making sure others especially those new to the market stay away from such circumstances is Greg Secker’s Pride purpose and service.

What Does Levi’s Casting Say About “Shazam?”

It was recently announced that Zachary Levi would be playing the superhero protagonist of Shazam, the DC Comics/Warner Bros. film set for release on April 5, 2017. Some are now asking what the implications of this casting might be, in terms of tone and whether or not the film will be part of the DC Extended Universe.

Levi has been in superhero films before—he plays Fandral in Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok—but is primarily a comedic actor. He appeared in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel as a caretaker for the titular rodent band and played Flynn Rider, the roguish love interest to Rapunzel, in Disney’s Tangled.

Levi was not the first odd choice for this project: Shazam‘s director, David F. Sandberg, is primarily known for horror movies (most notably Light’s Out and Annabelle: Creation), and has brought a few of his genre friends with him. Nevertheless he seems to have a flair for comedy, having several joking interactions with Shazam comic book’s fanbase.

Shazam is focused on a young boy, Billy Batson, who can turn into an adult superhero by saying “Shazam,” the name of the wizard who gave him his powers. It is the ultimate wish fulfillment for kids, and several sources say that it will be a more lighthearted, fun entry into the DCEU, which so far has alienated some fans with its darker tone.

But the film was originally pitched as a standalone; it was added to the DCEU later. Does the comedic tone of its lead and director indicate that it may be excised from the more serious series? It’s not impossible: Warner Bros. has announced a Joker movie that is separate from the DCEU.

Only time will tell what kind of film it is that Levi and Sandberg will wind up making.

Fishburne and Marvel May Have a Secret Project Planned

Actor Laurence Fishburne may be working on a secret project for Marvel, in addition to his part in Ant-Man and the Wasp (released on July 6, 2018).

In the upcoming Ant-Man sequel, Fishburne will be playing Bill Foster, a former assistant of Michael Douglas’ character, Hank Pym, and the second male character to become a size-changing superhero (called Black Goliath). He is also involved with Marvel’s competitor, DC Comics, appearing as Perry White (Clark Kent’s boss and editor) in Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He was offered a role in this year’s Justice League film but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts.

However, in a recent Collider interview about the Marvel film, he segued into discussing a new project, offering scant but tantalizing details about what it might be.

“I’m developing something else for Marvel that I can’t talk about. It’s gonna be really cool. It’s gonna change the world, we hope,” he said, laughing.

He adds that he was the one who pitched the idea, whatever it was, but it involved a lot of legal red tape that was difficult to work through. He says that his Ant-Man and the Wasp role was offered afterwards.

One possible interpretation of Fishburne’s statement could be that he wanted to pitch a Black Goliath film, though it’s unclear if Marvel would want to go through with that, for several reasons: it is awfully close to Ant-Man, after all, but without as much name recognition. The talk of legal red tape could imply that Fisburne’s plan involved some sort of property owned by another company, such as Spider-Man (owned by Sony), the X-Men or Fantastic Four (owned by Fox); Marvel has limited use of the former, but not of the latter.

If the project goes through, we will just have to wait and see.

Abraham Ford: Professional Wrestler?

Fans of The Walking Dead might be surprised to learn that professional wrestler Matt Morgan was considered for the part of Abraham Ford.

And from his description, he got pretty close, too. “I auditioned for that part [of Abraham] and I was all but told that it was mine,” Morgan explained, and described how he spent a holiday season at his brother’s house isolated from the rest of his family because he was busy trying to learn his lines for the role. When he got the call saying that he had not, in fact, been chosen to play the character, he admits that he became “bitchy” and refused to watch the show as a form of bitter protest.

Introduced between the Governor and All Out War arcs of the zombie themed television series, Abraham was a popular character among the fanbase. A mustachioed Texan, he managed to bring a combination of pathos and humor to the dark program. Eventually he was killed off at the beginning of season seven, taken out by current main villain Negan and his beloved baseball bat, Lucille. Nevertheless, rumors abound that the character will appear soon on Fear the Walking Dead, a show that exists within the same universe but set earlier in the timeline, when the zombie apocalypse was only beginning (and thus, when Abraham was still alive).

Morgan’s loss was a gain for Michael Cudlitz, a veteran actor. Given how well he managed to play the part, many fans are probably willing to forgive the show’s creators for stiffing Morgan, especially since the wrestler seems like an odd choice for the character.

Other professional wrestlers have proven to be good actors, however, most notable Dwayne Johnson, formerly known as “The Rock.” For his part, Morgan has managed to get roles in Death from Above and The Good Guys, but has not had the sort of success that Johnson has.
